I have an I-pod 60G photo, the 60G video, a 1G Sandisc, and a 20G Archos. They all have their own little functions.

I have the 15gb, 2nd generation iPod.....it's almost vintage!

Couldn't live without it, but 15gb is not enough.....gonna buy a new one, one of them black ones.....30gb at least!

And I have the Bose iPod Sounddock.....that thing rules!!!!

I also have the 15G 2nd gen. I ended up with a 1G Shuffle as well. They're marvelous little machines. . . beautiful, functional. . . and iTunes is nice software.

I wouldn't have purchased the Shuffle myself, but it has turned out that I actually use it a lot. . . prolly more than my big one. It's VERY light, so great for workouts, and I worry less about breaking/losing it.

You can go here: http://www.apple.com/ipod , and click on the different models. They give the sizes in terms of how many songs, as well as gigs.

60 gigs are for the freaks who thrive on music (not saying i dont, just not so much) and they can hold even MORE

20 gigs is a comfortable amount but if u know you're always getting music then a 60gig is better

the thing that people dont seem to remember is that once the music is on the ipod, its still possible to take if off...
the many times i've cleaned out my ipod just because i know there's music on there that i dont listen to anymore...i just take those songs out and then i have even more space for the better stuff! thats why for my a 20gig is just right

well ususally when you install itunes it'll scour your harddrive for any music you already have on your computer..which is a bonus cuz that works already done for you
to rip a cd onto itunes takes maybe about 10 minutes, not too long at all...and once it's on itunes you can plug in your ipod anytime and just drag and drop onto your lil ipod icon and the transfer is almost instant
it's also my lil address book, and notebook..i keep all of my special documents on my ipod too

actually the main reason i got the ipod was so that i could put my whole Prince collection on there so i can listen to all my Prince music anytime!

I don't own one, or any portable music device for that matter. Its not really appropriate for me to listen to headphones at work with people trying to buzz me or call me and I just play my stereo when I'm at home or in my car.

I was also kind of worried it would be one of those things I buy then never use, like those Palm devices. Also, between my wallet, keys, and cell phone, I have enough shit to carry around with me, let alone an IPod.

I'll give it one or two more years before I get me one of those
things. By then they will be 80 to 90 GB for the same money and
a shitload of extra's thrown in for free.

that's the advantage of being a technology slacker like me, you
miss out on the latest fads but you're usually just in time for
the perfected top of the range, priced down releases
