The story of little suck a thumb.

This is from a classic German fairy tale.

He wrote these stories because he hated the bad habits of little children and people, and wrote these wild stories about it. No wonder the Germans get such a bad rap..lol

I had Der Struwwelpeter book as a child with this story in it!

I had Der Struwwelpeter book as a child with this story in it!

anxy has it too I think!


i do indeed! i collect struwwelpeter stuff...i have two different editions of the book, plus a soundtrack for an opera based on the stories. in fact, i bought a new version of der struwwelpeter when i was in new york!

I read the soup one to my boys recently - the one where the boy won't eat and gets all skinny and dies.

It worked, they eat all their dinners now! eek

I loved that show so much...

My favorite is about the kid who gets stabbed in the face with cutlery when he falls over from rocking back in his chair...I used to do that alot as a kid, lol.

I loved that show so much...

My favorite is about the kid who gets stabbed in the face with cutlery when he falls over from rocking back in his chair...I used to do that alot as a kid, lol.

my husband says his mum stabbed his hand with a fork for rocking back in his chair falloff

Okay, maybe he didn't get stabbed in the face and that's just what I like to THINK happened, haha. I remember in the play they made the stories much more greusome than they actually were.
