Could this be the most beautiful movie in the world?

Okay, i won't go that far. though it really has to be one of the best movies i've seen in a loooong time. this is an intriguing story with beautiful cinematography, visually this movie has it going on! i would love to see a remastered version of this. for those that are curious about the plot, it's about a Lord who turns power over to his eldest son and all hell breaks loose afterwards. a powerful story with a lot of life lessons.

Supposedly, the director Akira Kurosawa is legendary. i'll mos def be checking out some of his other works. smile

i knew there was something a little too Shakespearean about this film!! mad

must've been all of the tragedies wrapped up into one big tragedy that made me a bit suspicious. lol

yeah. i loved the whole trilogy. um there's nothing spectacular about the special effects in this movie, but the background and some of the things the director does with the color is magical.

There are some long takes... I saw this in the theatre on its first release.... I remember some people not likeing the beheading scene because it was too much of a jet of blood.

yeah. i was thinking they could've done a bit more editing, but i didn't mind cuz a lot of the long unnecessary takes where easy to watch.
