AIFF is higher quality, MP3 files are smaller in size (ie. you can fit more on the device). All music players will play MP3s. I don't know how many play AIFFs. Unless you're an audiophile, MP3s will be fine. Seattle Org Invasion July 28th-30th http://www.prince.org/msg/2/177514

Encoders are like little programs that write the data in a particular way and read it. MP3 Encoder is a more universal data writer/reader for devices such as players. The diffrences between Encoders can be quite vast. For example Wav files are more often the Mp3 file, fuller versions of the music. In other words, they lose less frequencies then Mp3, but at the price of Wav files often take up much more room. I could go on. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

I'll try and break it down....
CD's - What you are hearing is WAV/AIFF quality. PC - When you rip a CD to your computer the best quality you can have is WAV. Mac - When you rip a CD to your computer the best quality you can have is AIFF. MP3 and Acc and all of that are Wav/Aiff files COMPRESSED. Depending on what you use to rip will determine is they are Acc or MP3. It used to be back in the day you could rip to compressed files, but if you had Compressed files alreay...like lets say you had a mp3s of an album you downloaded, you had to get a seperate WAV encoder to make your mp3's wav files so you can burn a cd. Nowadays most good programs go back and forth pretty easily. Why do you need a wav encoder? Christian Zombie Vampires | |
