Hostel = Disappointing? Saw this tonite with a few of my friends, was really looking forward to this flick, but was disappointed not enough killings...and those kids did my tits in..and the acting wasn't that great untill there were getting stabbed at..
Just thought it could'a been so much better.. 4.5/10 Who's seen it? Keenmeister

I have no intention of seeing a movie with torture scenes in it.
I get more and more disturbed when I watch movies like this in the theatre and people are actually laughing and/or cheering when someone gets killed in a horrific and bizaar way. I mean, whatever happenned to the pyschological tension in Hitchcock movies combined with a bit of restraint? Of course, I like porn, so who am I to judge art.

I didn't like it. True, it wasn't as disgusting as it was reported to be
but it was still disturbing. Altho it could have been a lot more disturbing if the external plot had not been so horribly lame It just made me realise why I don't like horror movies and torture stuff. It just doesn't ad anything to a movie other than being nasty. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

You can't really take torture scenes in horror movies too seriously. I mean, they glued a rubber eyeball to her face, she has to scream convincingly as they pull it off. I usually can't get into the characters too much in horror movies, especially ultra gory b movies, to really believe it's real. Watching someone get hurt in real life bothers me big time, I have a weak stomach for it, but watching a foam and latex dummy get whacked with an axe, is sorta funny in a Mr Bill kinda way.

I was expecting more myself. The premise was good but I was dissapointed. I actually wanted the lead guy to die. He was such an arrogant prick. He was expecting everyone to speak English even though he's in another country. Hello!
