All of those 70s airport/ship/natural disaster tragedies were classic. I don't really remember much of her other stuff but a Karen Black party night sounds like fun biggrin

in that case, add "come back to the five and dime jimmy dean, jimmy dean" to the list, because karen plays a transsexual and it also involves cher, kathy bates and (for god's sake) sandy dennis!

How old is that movie? Kathy Bates is one of my all time favorite actresses! nod

mid '70s, i'm pretty sure. i've only seen it once, but i really enjoyed it. it has all the makings of a camp classic, but it's actually really good. robert altman directed it.

nope. she'd done a lot of stage work for years before 'misery'. it was just that it put her on the map as a film star.

I couldn't help myself, I had to watch it again last night. There are a LOT of great moments in this...an amazing amount, actually, considering how short it is...

He's pretty short...did he jump up to grab the doorknob, or did he grab a chair to stand on?

He jumped up and grabbed the doorknob while she was on the phone to the police. It wasn't pretty after that.

Apples, he has supernatural powers! wink

That scene is really great, especially the whole tension as she hears him grunting as he's trying to pick the lock on the door.....silence..... the knob starts turning

Actually, not to nitpick but, there's two door scenes... the first, that I captured above is not even a locked door. She runs in the bedroom, closes the door and calls the police. This is when he jumps up and manages to turn the knob. The door slowly swings open and Amelia freaks out. The second is after he climbs up the bed... she runs into the bathroom, where she locks the door. This is where he picks the lock. It's freaky and quick too. She hears him jump up and start picking, then the lock pops out and the door FLIES open and he races in! Good Stuff!!!
lol
