Just got COSBY SHOW Season 2 on DVD...

Man this just takes me back to my childhood and I couldnt wait to see 'Cosby Show' on Thursday nights! That was 'Must See TV' for sure! (Every year I also could not wait to see wat new dance bit they did at the beginning and how the theme song would be rearranged...Season 2 was jazzy-funky)

Season 2 is arguably the best season. I love 'Anniversary' episode when the family perform 'Night Time Is The Right Time' for the grandparents...and Rudy doing the 'BABY!' bit... lol

Denise was my favorite because she stood out..and she was a Prince fan! I love the episode with Stevie Wonder...('JJJJAMIN ON THE ONE!!!!')

I think I'm gonna spend a good chunk of my weekend reliving great memories watching this DVD....I wish there were more extras and commentary...there's not much..

And the all the guest stars I completely forgot about...Robin Givens, Blair Underwood (YUM), Mario Van Peebles (DOUBLE YUM), Dizzy Gilespe, Stevie Wonder.....just to name a few...

This show is a true classic and Phylica Rashad is so damn beautiful! True definition of a classy lady!

Anyone else have fond 'Cosby' memories? Share!

OMG, I heart The Cosby Show!! It is one show that I tuned in during the 80's every week. I still enjoy watching the reruns on cable.

You mentioned the Stevie Wonder episode. The part that cracked me up was when Stevie sang, "No purple rain", instead of, "No April rain." It was like Stevie was giving Prince a nod of appreciation. smile
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Someone explain the wings reference to me from "The Card Game." I got some trash talk riding on that trivia.

Orgnote me, if need be, please.

Thanks.

I loveeee the Cosby Show. Secretly dreamed of being a Huxtable in my adolescent years. That show was my escapism all during middle school -- used to time my VCR while I was at school to watch it.

Would buy the DVD set, but I actually recorded almost EVERY episode of that show from 1984-1992 on tons of VHS tapes.

This was must see tv in the 80s. Each episode was like an event. It did black folks good to see ourselves on tv and not be maids or buffoons for once.

That's for sure. It was very refreshing to see that on TV. And every episode there was a message.

i can see why it projects a good image for black folks, but sorry, it is so s-l-o-w paced. And is cheesy.

I have this too! I still have to watch most of it. Yes the Cosby show really brings me back to my childhood too!

I love Denise too because she reminds me of my sister. Both in looks, temperment and personality. But I always identified with Sandra. biggrin
