I think my house is haunted

You know this is staring to bother me.
Several times, I think I have been "touched" The first time was a year or two ago, and I was just waking up when I felt a hand clasp my hand, as if to hold it. That didn't bother me though, It was strangley comforting.
The second time, I was smacked on the back of my head. OK< I DID NOT LIKE THAT.
The third time I was playfully poked in my butt cheek. WTF?
Last week, I was drifitng off into a dream, when I I felt what felt like a finger brushed or tapped my back to get my attention.
And oh, sometimes, I have the strongest feeling that there's anither presence in the room with me, not often, just a few times.
A fewe other instances have happened, but I can't rememebr them right now.
Each time any of this has happened, i was either drifting off to sleep or waking up, so i have blamed it on that, but I'm thing not now.

Thanks, Naked. hug I live alone, but do have dog. Sometomes, I'll catch him looking up as if he's looking at something and I'll make him stop, because I don't like the idea of someone I can't see being there.
I have considered hollering: "You're dead, go home, go the the light!" but I'm afraid I'll piss somebody off and it'll get worse. boxed I've heard Sylvia Browne tell people to do this when they think their house is haunted.

You should ask them what they want. Sometimes people hang around because something has been left undone. Maybe there's money in the house.

My first impression. Person's name starts with a T. The first thing I thought was Tom but for some reason I think that's wrong and it's a female.

oh god yes. had this in the house i grew up in. only dared to talk about it
at age 20 when it turned out my mom had been having the same experiences in
the house all the time too. we were both affraid to talk about it for fear
of people thinking we were mad.

some of the things:

* sudden incredibly cold air, specifically in bathroom and located to
small areas. for instance you'd be in the tub, filled with hot water
and all of a sudden the entire room around the bath would become so
cold your breath was visible.

* soon as you were in the bathroom, pref in the shower, or just washing
your face at the sink, lights went out or flickered on and off.

* if lights did not go out, soon as you rubber the soap on your face n
thus couldn't immediately open your eyes, something would "touch" you
and it would be so hauntingly real that i ran out of the bathroom with
soap on my face, screaming several times

* when downstairs, hearing someone walk around upstairs, even when home
all alone.

* seeing doors open before they actually would. so not really any kind
of spooky "ghost opening door" stuff, but simply seeing the handle go
down and the door opening about 30 seconds before someone like my mom
or brother would actually walk into the room

* often seeing things just out of the corner of your eye. usually black
dog or human form. usually centered once again in bathroom or in space
between kitchen and livingroom.

* even as 20 yr old guy (and unknown from me also my 45 yr old mom) id
be in the cellar which was big and well lit, turn off the lights and
walk up the stairs at which point i'd get so incredibly scared that id
run up the stairs 4 steps at a time, clawing like mad for the floor in
the hallway and on occasion crying hysterically to myself once on the
landing floor.

* got so bad, if my parents went out to friends on the weekend i would
wait and try to see how long i could keep up staying in the house. the
max was usually one hour, by which time i would be at my wits end. i'd
go and sit out in the yard, even if temperatures were -0 until i heard
my folks car pull up the driveway which is when i'd go back in.

thank god we moved house by then and from the very first day of living
in our new house none of these things ever happened again. never felt
like any "presence" might be near anymore.

in this house i can sit in the middle of a room with all lights off n
simply meditate for an hour or so. i stay home alone, spend time in
the basement by myself working and can soap up my face for 15 minutes
without giving my surroundings a second thought.

same goes for my mom.

a while ago we got an invite from the people who live in that home now
to come have a look at the changes they made but we reclined since i'd
not set foot in that house anymore for all the money in the world.

it wasn't just the things that happened in the house it was also the
things we all went through and the illnesses we got when living there.

from what i've heard about the new folks, same things are happening to
them eventho they never talked to anyone about "ghosts" or anything.

but simply from knowing what they wanted to do and what they ended up
doing now and the situation they are in (unable to move, just like my
folks were for 19 years of living there despite trying everything to
get away).

the last kick the house gave us when we finally were able to get out
and away from it was to kill my dog. i know that sounds absurd and
the dog died from eating ratpoison across the street, but it's just
something you can't explain. my mom, brother, dad and me just all
knew that this was the final blow the house delivered us for being
able to get away from it. i know how absurd that sounds lol. but its
what it felt like.

freaky stuff. all i can say is that if you live in a house and think
that it's haunted, just leave as soon as you can.

nod

you could also do a sacred circle of light around your home ... with clear intention that only those energies that vibrate in love may enter and or stay

rose

try to not go into places of fear over it ... get the idea and your intention clear in your mind of what you will allow into your sacred space and make yourself heard

it was like living in some shitty b-movie half of the time.
great relief when i found out my mom had been experiencing
the exact same stuff. on the one hand that made it still a
bit more scary since it was apparantly real but on the other
hand, at least i knew i wasn't going mad.

from what we found out later, people who lived there before
us only lived there for 6 months which was when the woman
got a burn out and refused to enter the house again.

when the husband dropped their son of at school, just three
streets away, she would become hysterical being alone in
the house and run out to the other side of the street in her
pj's, waiting until her husband came back.

they went to spain on holiday to let her cool off, where
her husband told her he didn't want to sell the house and
she would just have to get used to it.

at which she jumped off the balcony! he could catch her
and promised they would sell the house

which is when my parents came along and bought the damn
thing.

lol

the thing is, i don't really believe in spirits or in an
afterlife. it's just stuff i can't explain.

Too bad it was your parents that bought the house next. I guess they didn't warn you in advance, huh?

No, I really don't believe in ghosts, or in anything that needs to be believed in for that matter. I don't mean to demean your own experiences though - and well, it would be so much cooler if ghosts really did exist. smile You know, if it helps you to somehow relate to some alternative explanations, I can admit that I am for instance coming out of what was perhaps the hardest year-and-a-half in my life and experiencing a great deal of fatigue due to excessive amounts of studying and trying to fill up expectations that others have imposed on me. Recently I've noticed that I've actually started dreaming for short periods of time even when I am awake. As in my thought processes become narrative in an illogical way and I can really sort of "feel" what I am going through in these "dreams" (i.e. walking on slippery ice, watching in the mirror of my nose deforming and so on).

But honestly speaking, the thought of haunted premises does honestly frighten me.

I am extremely interested in hauntings and ghost stuff. There's an excellent website you need to look into, http://theshadowlands.net./ghost/#real.

Check out the True Stories section. There are literally something like 10,000 reports that people have sent in about their hauntings or ghost sightings or whatever, and many of them are exactly like yours.

It's important to know that you are the boss in this situation and you can tell the spirit that you don't want it around anymore (be firm). I'd recommend telling it in the name of Christ that's it's gotta go. Burning sage and white candles seems to help too. Playing with Ouija boards and that stuff is only going to make it worse, btw

check out those stories. They're great wink

Yeah, are you sure its not a relative? I guess if you get a negative or scary feeling from it maybe its not - go with your instinct - but it may well be. It may be someone who loved you and doesnt want to leave when you tell them to, they want to stay with you. shrug

Ive felt someone by me often, but, and this may sound wierd, I know its my Dad. I dont feel a prescence, I feel him, and if I do feel a prescence, Im sure its him. Very rarely have I felt any negative energy, and if I do I feel my Dad come kick it out! Sounds silly, maybe its just me getting myself to sleep at night, but I have faith that if I DID feel anything bad, there are plenty of people on that plane (sp?) who loved me very much and will protect me from it. And like Naked said, it cant hurt you. My advice would be to try to have faith that its good hug Oh and trust your dog! they know their stuff!

Thanks for the website. I haven't had a chance to check it our yet, though, I'm a little afraid, LOL - not joking here.
And I don't play with Ouija boards - I believe they're an entry to evil and I don't even watch horror movies.. I'm too afraid of them giving me a nightmare. I won't even watch things like The FBI Files or New Detective before going to slepp. I probably sound like a real wuss.
I have yet to get the courgae to tell the presence to go away.
Do you know where I can get sage to burn?
