How fucking lame and evil is most of this stuff? Makes me wonder how low the tastes of todays young people are. And they have the gall to call us old foggies, hell, at least I have fucking taste!

If I have to see another reality show with self-serving, ego-centered teen and college kids, gazing at their collective navels, I will fucking scream. You replace your music programming for this?

Isn't MTV mostly non music. My fave MTV time period was 91-97. Even early 2000's it was somewhat tolerable. Their Spring break used to be filled with live shows and live contest. But now they just have Spring Break versions of the show they show all the time There used to be a time where MTV would play a video that wasn't in their top 20. I really miss Muchmusic here in the States.

I remember when they first started MTv2, though: originally it was more "alternative" music programming, for both rock and r&b...stuff that wasn't too pop-y...are they saying that now they're using it for all music (inc. the heavy rotation pop stuff)? That would be a combination of both weird and sad indeed

Non-music programming is now slowly invading MTV2. Half of the time it's Beavis and Butthead, Viva La Bam, Andy Milonakis and Wonder Showzen being shown on that channel.

Between MTV and MTV2 combined I watch exactly one hour a week and that is Subterranean on MTV2 on Sundays at midnight. That show has sold me a few CDs.

I wish they played more music on MTV but I like the shows for the most part.
