TORONTO THIS WEEKEND - NEED TIPS ok, last minute I'm taking my 15 year old son to Toronto this weekend. I may have jumped on the American Airlines sale to quickly, is this a bad time to go? My son's on spring break and I wanted to take him somewhere (while I can still make him do stuff with me:)
Anyway, anyone have any thoughs, suggestions, warnings? Please share. Also, we are only going for a weekend (Friday morning - Sunday afternnon) I'm staying at the Courtyard Downtown Toronto Hotel, which probably is not the best location? But it was listed as a decent hotel for a good price. Regardless of my timing, I'm excited - I've never been to Canada!! .

Go to NY instead. I live in Toronto and it's pretty boring here. Not to mention that it's supposed to rain all this weekend.

Don't drive on the streets the way u do in USA or you wil have a head on collision. Miles is km out there also and they do not accept american money. My 5 hours out there was a tragedy in the making if i was staying out there any longer!!
Canada tried and keep me in their country cause they love me so much. Customs that is!!! [Edited 3/29/06 8:50am]

i don't mind the rain so much, how cold is it? I hope it's not too much colder than it is here in chicago. c'mon - there has to be something fun to do. Can you recommend a good place to eat? what about that underground path thing...

You should like the hotel. I have stayed there before.
It seems as though everyone wants to see the CN Tower. We have lots of great shopping and restuarants, but I doubt your son will care about those. The ROM is always good and so is the Science Centre. The Eaton Centre is great too. Enjoy our wonderful city!!

It's pretty mild right now. I guess you should definately go to The CN Tower, The Royal Ontario Museum, Yorkville (celebrities hang out there), The Eaton Centre, The Yonge Street Strip between Bloor St. and Queen St.

I Toronto. 2 days isn't really enough to take it all in, but there are some good suggestions here.
I'd also recommend seeing a play while you're there. And definitely Yonge Street. That seems to be the destination point for all tourists. There are some great arcades open late if you're looking for some late night activities. And don't forget to visit the waterfront!
