Do you like to keep records of things?

I print out all of Dan's threads and line my cat's litterbox with them.

I used to tape things. I have a bunch of recorded conversations from my friends and I from about 6 years ago.
I used to keep journals as well but when I realized all I seemed to write about were boys and my hair I decided it was time to give it up.

I've got some tapes somewhere of my dad's band he was in when he was about 19. They were recorded on an old reel-to-reel and converted to cassette later. I wonder if I could get them onto a CD...
That's fun stuff too.

I wish i had been better about recording/taping/keeping journals. I grew up with a mother that abandoned or discarded a lifetime of memories. I can remember leaving a household of furniture during evry move (and we moved a LOT). I think that I am now a pack rat of sorts. I keep all of my sons old toys,clothes and school papers so that he can have them later. I just need to take more pictures!

sometimes i'll just write random thoughts down it'll end up being a page long, almost in verse...

i do keep a diary, but i dont tape things, unless they're prince appearances

im deffinitely a memory keeper tho
i dont like scrapbooking tho lol

my mum used to record letters onto cassettes that she would send overseas to her mother, one from 1976 never got sent and I have it. I am on it saying "grandma, I LOVE Beethoven" and singing swiss german kids songs

I also have tapes my sister and I made - radio plays we made up and songs we wrote - we were big on sound effects accompanying stories eg. the sound of a basketball bouncing on the ground was someone's head that fell off

we also recorded 90 mins (without anyone knowing) of a rather drunken party of my parents, which was played back to them the next day when they were sober and they laughed until they cried. The tape was used after that when we went out to sound like we were home.

I write everything down. Im really forgetful, and I want to remember and relive all the special things that happen to me, even if its just a nice evening or meeting a boy! I literally forget everything if I dont write it down. I keep some random scrapbooky type stuff too in a shoebox. I have tons of old notebooks in varying levels of "private" and since I got my laptop theres even a diary folder on it! Stuff like thats important to me, I would never keep it for my kids to see or anything, but I just want to remember the ins and outs of my day when im old

My memory is getting TERRIBLE! It's got to the point where my mates are like my walking memory banks. Sometimes, they even remind me what I've done. They'll start a story and I'm like 'I did that??!'.

thats what happens to me too! Just sometimes something realy good happens, and the page usually starts with "I cant really be bothered writing about this yet but Ill forget if I dont..."!! You should do it Get a nice wee notebook or something, but you cant force yourself into it, otherwise you wont write what you really feel and it'll be a waste. Sounds daft, but you have to be comfortable. I write in A4 pads I have a big folder of them that goes back to when i was 13! Scary stuff!

Once we were playing the tape while mum and dad weren't home one afternoon, and a kid from school walked by the house and the next day asked about the party we'd been having - so it sounded real on their big stereo.

I don't tape everything, but I keep journals. I have a collection of journals from 1994 to present as well as my livejournal.

actually, if it were possible i'd like to be BIG BROTHER sometimes, for myself... not that i'm peeping on anyone else, like voyeurs do and nothing spooky, but just for myself. yea, i like records, who doesn't?... recordings of sound and movies and what not... playing them back is fun.

If I did it could be used as evidence against me if I ever got my ass caught.

i found a box that had a bunch of mine... they were half-burnt if not entirely so i threw them out.

i'm keeping a journal right now for my daughter, mostly about the cute/funny things she does. she can have the book when she grows up. it's a flower fairies diary. The blackberry fairy looks just like her!
