Stunning set pieces. The Pelican Poems and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

The book is truly astounding, and not just because of the obvious ways in which it lends itself to cult status. His writing is remarkable. totally agree! I've re-read T50YS yesterday for the third time (it's a short story so
it doesn't take that long to read). It's a bit hard to make out the different colors of the narrators and I can only make them out under a bright light (this makes me sound as if i'm 98 years old). But it's a compelling story and there are many weird things going on just beneath the surface. I'm still not convinced that the drawings are just what they appear. And this morning in the shower it suddenly hit me that the way they write the title as "T50YS" is kinda like this newspeak for TSOYS, which would, when you pronounce it resemble THESEUS. I just remembered that, forgot all about it after I came out of the shower and stumped my toe on the toilet. Gonna look up some Theseur stories and see how they link to the 50 YS and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I just tried to get a sense of the story. But I think I missed a lot. I don't know what to make of it. Neither did I try too hard to connect the words and the pictures. I need to do that too. lol
