And I don't want them!!!





So I had my dentist appointment today and it turns out nothing is wrong with my gums or teeth. I have a baby eye-tooth that never came out, it's anchored to my jaw bone. And my permanent tooth is pissed cause it wants to move in. And it's been crowding that baby tooth. So very soon, we will be evicting the baby tooth and apparently I'll need braces for 9 months to a year to make sure the new tooth moves in all nice like and fits in well with the neighbors.

I'm gonna be a 30-year-old with braces!

No worries - my friend Kathy had them just last year - it was fine! And I'm sure you'll look darling as usual! She said the biggest pain was cleaning them - food tends to stick - she boycotted popcorn for 9 months!

getting rid of the baby tooth and giving the adult tooth space might solve your tmj problem!! ask your dentist

You'll pull them off. You can get the little bands in pink and black.

They aren't fun, but you do get used to them, and they do come off before you know it.

I don't get why they can't just use a retainer, though.

over here a lot of grown up folks walk around with braces. most i see
them on are women of about 30 (really).

honestly, i've never though anyone looked weird or geeky with braces.
it's easier to say "i don't want them" than it is to say, ok i will
have these braces and see to it that i keep my nice teeth.

so whenever i see a grown person with braces i just think they're at
least cool and self assured since they chose for it and decided to
go through with it.

and what's more, it really doesn't look dorky or weird. it's braces



lord knows 75% of all people have had them at one point or another.

and like someone else said, you with your cool attitude and looks
will surely rock the hell out of those braces

Don't feel bad, I got mine when I was 21 years old. I had the top row done because it was crooked and I couldn't stand it anymore. Also, I had the clear braces - does your dentist offer them? They're not as obvious.
And it will go by fast.
I hope you're not a gum chewer, though - that's a definite no-no.
As far as price, ask your denrist if he can put you on a monthly payment plan - mine did.

Just think of all the pretty colors you can have.
