Public Information Films Whatever happened to public information films? You dont see them anymore do you. Can you think of any? Is it because our government thinks its citizens to be more worldly wise than they used to be? Have you yourself been in a public information film?...

Im not sure. I should have asked really. They're like adverts but short films advising you to do and dont do things. Like talking to strangers, walking across train tracks etc

Like talking to strangers, walking across train tracks etc i can still remember one from kindergarten or first grade they showed us about not letting people touch your privates, and it had a lascivious octopus in a fedora and sunglasses trying to touch people. i dont remember much about it other than the octopus and, no, i am not kidding. great TV, bring em back!! Or that girl who picks up a sparkler on Bonfire Night. She had THE biggest bandage on her hand and looked at the camera as if she was about to be put down.

They can be found on ebay . News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I like the ones they did with the G.I.JOE characters at the end of their cartoons. They'd all end with a the enlightened kid saying "Now I know!", to which one of the JOEs would reply with "...and knowing is half the battle!"

There was also another I can remember which was quite disturbing. This couple came back to their house and I think the husband could smell gas. His wife was about to turn a light on and he shouted 'don't!'. It was just the way he said it which really stuck with me.

Still haunts you to this day??? Do you remember that one - a cartoon - with an old bloke who rode a clapped-out bicycyle and he'd been doing it for something like 70 years? I think it was a 'Bicycle Safety' one. And the Green X code ones.
