yep they should have given u it when u left your job. Is hard for u to star a new one without it. Your new employer may put u on emergency tax code without it.

i never officially left though-i live in nz tho am british and come back and work for a specialist nursing agency when im back-so do i have to officially resign?

am not 100% sure in this case.. call the tax office and ask them. Either way your last employer should be abe to give you a P45. I actually called the tax office the week and spoke to a really nice helpful guy. It totally threw me.



As far as never leaving, have they been paying you whilst in NZ?
