Polyamory and Polygamy....

What do you think about it?

HBO's new series, "Big Love" has really opened many people's eyes to the subject.

First of all, are there any bisexual single females on here who would like to be long term partners (not necessarily exclusive) with a married couple?

Have any of you ever been in a polygamous relationship, and would you ever consider it? Have you ever allowed your mind to be open in that way?

Yeah, me too. I could do this only if I didn't really love the people. Kinda like a playtoy. But if my feelings are involved I get so super jealous and just would not want to share the other person. Now if I had 2 men devoted to me every second of the day and only me....maybe I can dig that biggrin

first off what is the difference?

polygamy is being married to more than one person. Each wife or husband is suppose to know about the other but it doesn't always work that way. Usually it does though.

polyamory is having romantic relationships with more than one person and there is no marriage involved. It's not cheating because each party involved is suppose to know that everyone's down with o.p.p.

Yeah, I'm honestly sick of talking about it. wink

But for the 3 of you on this site who don't know, I was living in a polyamorous relationship (with 2 men; I'm female). Didn't work out. . .not because it was poly, just because sometimes relationships don't work out. And yes, this bisexual woman likes the idea of a long-term relationship with a couple.

"Polygamy" necessarily means a relationship involving a man and multiple women. "Polyamory" is a gender-neutral concept, and could include marriage or not.

I think people should try to figure out what they want their families to look like and create that. thumbs up!

do you think you're going to end up like some crazy hippies who were just wild as hell in their youth and now are more or less as conservative as all the Bushbots?

talk to the hand

As you know, being some sort of freak in the eyes of most can be exhausting. With the right people, it'd be worth it, and I'd go for it again. As of right now, I'm with a persom who is uncomfortable with me having intimate relationships with other men, and I'm willing to respect that. But yeah, check with me in 20 years. lol
