you have to be kidding me...

I just got a phone call from my land lord who said I either have to "get rid of three dogs (I have four) or move"....there is no written lease on the house and there was no discussion on the number of dogs prior to moving in....I had one dog when I moved in....I work in animal control...would you not suspect I prolly like dogs?...Ive lived in this house for about 15 months...at least 12 of which Ive had four dogs...the dogs arent going anywhere.....they are like my kids..

I work 40 hours a week, I go to school 40 hours a week, all the while dealing with some seriously stressful personal issues....I dont need this shit right now...I know you guys dont know me from adam...but I had to vent mad

My neighbours in the flat upstairs have two dogs and they drive me CRAZY.

If they're not barking in the middle of the night, they're pissing in the lobby and shitting all over the communal backyard.

Yeah. It seems sort of sad to leave dogs home alone so much of the time. sad

Yeah, I mean you have to walk a dog at least three times a day and the thought of FOUR dogs in an appartement when the owner, I hate that word, is working 40 hrs. a week plus 40 hrs . school ?

I dont live in an apartment.....I have a house with a 3/4 acre backyard and a doggie door....the dogs come in and out of the house as they please....I will only be working and going to school for about 4 months.....this is not a permanent or even semi permanent situation....however, this was NOT my main concern...

Good luck with that. I am a dog lover too. However I throw my card down with the landlord. It was an unwritten agreement that you had one dog. Do the right thing. I thought as a animal worker you understood in most metropolitian areas there is a number of dog per person legal maximum.

"Dog people" don't seem to understand how some other people might not share their appreciation of their pets. They are just annoyance on legs. I mean the dogs - not the owners.

That's a generalization. I am a dog person. I have had a dog most of my life. I treat my dog with better respect and more love then I do most of the humans in this world. My dog is an extention of me. Please see my statement above.

This is true in most city limits there is a limit to the number of animals you can have. In my city its 5; however, I do not live in the city limits and thereby is no limit.

and in response to those who find dogs and/or their owners to be an "annoyance", my nearest neighbor is a half mile away.

I see...

Well if the crack-whore-bitch upstairs had dogs which had to wake up at 06.30 in the morning to spend eight hours at work each day and went to sleep at a reasonable hour, I'd probably love them too.

As it is, I've found myself having murderous thoughts when I hear them constantly yapping in the middle of the night. The owner isn't completely blameless... The dogs are probably crack-addicted from all the passive smoke which doubtless permeates her rancid drug-den.

Well, dogs can't speak, so I'm not entirely sure what their feelings on the matter are, other than:

WOOF, WOOF-WOOF! YAP! YAP! YAP! YAP! WOOF! WOOF! YAP! YAP! WHIMPER. WHIMPER. HOWL! HOWL! YAP! YAP! WOOF! WOOF-WOOF-WOOF! YAP! YAP! YAP! YAP! YAP!

Etcetera.

Aww, well if the nearest neighbour is a mile away, and you have 3/4 acre land (is that what you said?) then really having 4 dogs instead of 1 makes no difference.

It's a real shame that there has to be a limit on the amount of dogs you can have, but I suppose that in most circumstances it works best for the owners (and their dogs!) as they would be living in cramped conditions.

Saying that, can you not come to some sort of compromise? Maybe you can try and talk to the landlord, your dogs don't seem to be causing anybody any trouble, with noise and all that.

Anyway, I hope you sort it out soon hug
