Childhood Remebrances.

I recall being in like first or second grade. We were making some cookies in a class about cooking. There was a sign on the wall. The sign reads "When life hands you lemons, make lemon aid". I recall thinking to myself "that's a bunch of bullshit". What did I have to be so bitter about in the second grade?
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

When you're young, you tend to be bitter about petty things. For instance, you been asking, begging, and pleading w/your parents to get you a Nintendo, like everyone else on the block. They finally break down and buy you a Sega. A Sega? A Freaking Sega???? But I wanted a Nintendo! N-i-n-t-e-n-d-o! No "S"'s in there. how can they be sooooo stupid. mad

(BTW, No, that was not me, but someone I knew...)

I got a failing grade on a Home Economics test once because my team forgot to put the chocolate chips in our chocolate chip cookies we were required to bake! duh
I had a wonderful childhood thanks to my parents - devoid of bitterness, anger, and hate..
Adulthood is proving to be much more of a challenge. hrmph

In fact I was the only one who was not allowed to sing bawl. I must have been 7 and it still makes me feel sad when I think of it sigh....

Ottensen

I remember being at aged 5 completely preoccupied with my red Mary Janes from Buster Brown, Winnie The Pooh, watching the soap opera Days of Our Lives and Romper Room, eating UNBELIEVABLE amounts of collard greens and refusing to even TOUCH my Snickers bar unless it was sliced on a plate like they showed it in the TV commercial... AND mimicking songs from Dolly Parton's variety show and my parents' Ike & Tina records at the drop of a hat

..what can I say? I was a quirky assed 5 year old lucky enough to be born in the 70's cool cool cool

i remember in the summer time my auntie and uncle would come over with my cousins and we'd all stay out late sitting on the porch or playing around the house while my dad and uncle would play records and smoke weed and drink beer. you could hear the music down the block giggle. we would go back and forth to the store all day to buy freeze pops and juices and potato chips.

I remember my dad placing me on the mantelpiece above the fireplace and letting me jump into his arms. I guess I was three or four years old.

I have good memories and bad memories. It's interesting what sticks in your head to this day.

I remember when i was a kid being good friends with the very pretty granddaughter of the superintendant of our building. She lived in New Brunswick and would come and visit every summer. We would hang out and play together for almost the whole time she was here. Great fun. And she was really pretty. She had the prettiest blonde hair you ever saw. (Which obviously had a big impact on me. biggrin ) I always looked forward to her coming. This went on for about 5 or 6 years. Then in the wintertime one year her Grandma died of cancer. After that her grandfather (our super) moved away and i never her saw again. Never got to say goodbye or anything. I have always wondered whatever happened to her.
