Since i'm about to spend a few days in a frigid locale, I decided to go pick up what I considered some very basic items.

A couple of plain sweat shirts...




And some simple thermal underwear...




Shopping for me is a very utilitarian process. I get no high from it. No endorphin rush.
This whole endeavor is totally planned from the store i'm going to, the store entrance i'll use and (to the best of my last memory of the store) the exact aisle and shelf i'm headed for before I get into the car.

Pretty much a surgical strike. Right!

I had no clue that unless I was in the market for overpriced oversized jeans, logo encrusted t-shirts and hoodies or calf-length "shorts" that I was SOL.

Now i've got my spots for expensive suits and such, but since when did a plain sweat shirt become...rare fashion?

This remained true for what I thought were all the common man establishments. Walmart, JC Penney, Sears, Mervyns etc.
If I hadn't spotted a Big 5 Sporting Goods store on my way home, i'd even have frequented more average joe fare like Marshalls and Ross.

Thanks to Big 5, I at least ended up with some underwear that, from its description, appears to have been designed for someone about to take on Pakistan's K-2.

The plain sweat shirts are still a mystery. Looks like it's online shopping for the kid.

Hopefully the frigid locale isn't Minnesota. You'd be shot wearing a green sweatshirt...even if it DOESN'T say "PACKERS" on it.

Why do the sweaters have to be plain?

For the most part I 2 do the "no logo" thing. If my cloths are to have anything on it, it can't have anything to do with the company and it must be discreet.

I am not getting paid to advertize their shit.

I hate to shop - I use your same tactic: I decide what I need, which store to go to, park and go in, head directly for the department I desire, buy the product and leave. And that is that!
No worrying about sales, no fussing over coupons...just do it!

You can get name brand tees and sweats pretty cheap at places like Burlington Coat Factory and TJMaxx. I love the plain Nike t shirts, they hold up better when you wash them, than some off brand discount shirt you get at Walmart or wherever. Kaufmanns usually carries alot of Russell Athletic and Champion sweatshirts pretty cheap too.

As for shorts, yeah sometimes they can be a little too long and start looking more like capri pants (which should NEVER be worn by a guy, I don't care how gay you are, LOL). But it's not as bad as those athletic shorts from the 80's. The polyester ones, that came in loud colors, and had white trim at the bottom. Those things were way too short, you sit down or bend over and your balls were practically falling out LOL.

That is one reason I like to buy my cloths online. Seldom ever has a guy thought they needed some new piece of cloths for "that night", unlike crazy ass women, we are basicly more stable when it comes to our clothing needs.

I can order the "t-shirts" and jeans I ware most of the time, but I don't need that type item in a rush.

for male shopping I say try online shopping. It keeps you from having to go to the store, and lets face it, you don't try the shit on anyway.
