Album Art Contest Results! For the original Thread go here http://www.prince.org/msg/100/177411
So here are the winners of the contest I had for album art submitted for my new album coming out soon. Just for reference The "band" is The SOund Capsule and the "album" is to be called "Enter the Sound Capsule" 
These were done by Retina and charlottegelin who did these together.  Job well Done!
And big thanks to everyone that turned in something as a serious submission... Byron Justin Lleena I'll be in contact with all of you to send you all a thank you. SO what happens now? Not sure. I'm not certain if the ones I picked will end up in our album or not. We may even decide on using parts of other submissions. We might work on these ourselves or include portions of them. You will get credit for anything we use. I amy contact you and see if you can send the pdf file to me so that maybe I can rework the text or something. Or there are other ideas my partner and I were pushing around...like maybe doing an ep first and using one of these for that instead of the actual album. So please don't delete! Mine was the stark magic-realism (lol) of the Kennedy image...
There may have been royalty issues. I don't know. In the U.K., you can reproduce images owned by British governmental bodies for educational purposes but I'm unsure how that would apply to the U.S.... I guess it wouldn't be entirely educational either. 
Having said that, I'm sure the Sex Pistols didn't ask the British Government's permission to use this image of the Queen... 
I do like the winning image as it looks like waveforms of sound rendered in jell-o... HOWEVER, I think the font is a tad 90s and cliched. What can I say? I'm a sore loser! lol. Change the font and it'll be spectacular! | |
