i recently paid a visit to my local musuem to take a look at their Vatican exibit. i'm sure it's well known, but the Catholic church has to be some of the richest mofo's on the planet earth. Whilst strolling the exibit i saw countless items embedded with precious stones and adorned with gold. these guys are the kings of bling! golden pimp canes with diamonds, luxurious clothing, lavish thrones. unfortunately, these were the only things that impressed me. i'm so shallow. i will say the one thing that blew me most is Pope Pius the IX's chalice! i think i stared at that thing for at least 15 mins, folks were getting mad at me for not moving. check it out for yourself. sorry it's so big, this is the only pic i could find.
