Everytime I see it I afterwards just have to put on some Prince or something.. I mean, how many tone-deaf uncharismatic people are out there?!

This leads to my last question:

If Prince wasn't famous and would go to one of the auditions, how do you think it would go for him? Would he make it or would Paula, Simon and Randy just ...

I auditioned when I was leavin my R&B group. That's a long and nervewracking process. Anybody who makes it to Hollywood has my respect. I made it to Paula, Simon and Randy and it was terrifying, to be perfectly honest. They make it seem like the three of them sit through thousands of auditions. They actually see 30 people out of the 10 or 15 thousand. Of those 30, half are actual possibilities. The other half are Mary Paulsen or WIlliam Hung.

In a later process of the show , it comes to stage-presence too .
THAT'S the stage where Paula's knowledge and experience is important .

We played in a few dodgy pub gigs. I was 16 then (20 now). We sorta did grundge, heavy shit. It was poor, but looking back (as 1 of my bandmates died), it was a laugh and fun.
