Chris Claremont & Jim Lee's X-men: The Adoration Thread!

My favorite creative team (I also love Madureira). I was mad for X-Men in those days. (The characters on the image are not the x-men, but the Starjammers with Professor X...coof! I mean the Skrull guy pretending to be him, since I was captive...in Sh'iar!)

A prize to the one who knows when this happened and what happened later (a clue: Shadow King And Muir Island! wink )

I think Jim Lee was after my comic book time, but damn if StarJammer doesn't ring a bell.

Wasn't he in some Defenders story arc?

The "Swashbuckler" Is Christopher Summers a.k.a. Corsair a.k.a Cyclop's daddy. But yes...the early 90's X-Men. Those were they days. I can't even keep track anymore. After Joe Mad left I stopped reading completely. His style is too damn tight.

2 teams..Portacio also did some wicked work!

I loved when the x-men went to australia...my first x-men story was when Storm died!

I was lucky to read the comics late because they were published with almost 10 years of delay here in Portugal! biggrin

George Perez rules!!!

I enjoyed the Jim Lee days, but Claremont/Byrne will always be the definitive run on that book.

Tell me about it. Just amputate his shit already. When X-Men TAS came out, I thought he was half robot or something in that yellow shit he hovered around in. It would've been sweet if they put that in the movie and made it chrome or something.

my favorite x-men era was around the time of paul smith and john romita, jr...there was a story right after the big fake phoenix storyline where it was just a whole issue of storm and kitty hanging out in the mansion talking about stuff, and i think that may be my favorite x-men comic ever, just because at that time, such things just weren't done. i thought it was very cool to turn the x-men into a domestic drama for one issue. lol

Is that the one when Storm takes Kitty in the air and tells her that she hasn't changed just because she had the mohawk and the leather outfit and all that? I remember that one. Yeah 80's to early 90's X-Men kicked too much asseth.

"The Dark Phoenix Saga" and "God Loves, Man Kills" were the best storylines. "House of M" was pretty good, but too many damn crossovers.

Did anyone mention "Days of Future Past"?

That was one of the best two issue stories ever.

The Morlocks were introduced in the early 80's also, great stories.

Dude, House of Meh doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with the other two storylines.

DoFP Is an all time classic. All of the HoM, Age of Apocalypse and what-not are just second-rate retreads of this classic story.
