It enrages me to hear this. I have a feeling karma is going to take care of this before the cops do. Very soon.....

Hang in there. There will be justice.

Is there a lawyer to call? A lawyer and the police immediately.

Maybe explain your family's legal options to bring him to justice. and help in the whole process.

A friend of mine broke down at dinner on Friday and told us about what happened to a couple she was very good friends with, it made the news. She is very mistrustful of men in general but had thought this guy seemed so nice and cool. He turned himself in 3 days after he murdered his girlfriend and unborn baby:

Pregnant woman murdered in southwest Houston

UNKNOWN FEMALE, 04/06/06 – HOUSTON

Pregnant woman murdered in southwest Houston

As reported by KHOU.com
April 7, 2006

Police found the body of a young pregnant woman inside her apartment Thursday night after getting a call from Abilene police.

They say Gregory Carl Manning walked into the Abilene police station Thursday and admitted he strangled his girlfriend back in Houston.

Manning is charged with capital murder.

The woman, who was six months pregnant, was in her mid-20s.

She lived in the 3000 block of Greenridge in southwest Houston.

From a more reliable source then the info on the web (my friend at dinner): Basically, he got in a fight with her for whatever reason, strangled her to the point of passing out, then left the apt, left town, went to his family in Abilene. three days later (unlike what is reported above) he called the police in Houston to go check on her, and they found her dead. I'm not sure why they don't identify her name, and in spite of these horrific events, at least he is going to serve a hard reckoning for his actions.

I'm hoping the monster that called your grandparents could easily be found by police.

I tried to say something meaningful or worthwhile but words are failing me. This is an incredibly sad situation and I am so sorry.

I hope that man will be brought to justice.

You and your family are in my thoughts.

Supa,
I'm sorry I couldn't get to this thread sooner.....

I'm very sorry for your loss. pray

Something tells me that that last call won't be the last time the dude's heard from. The guilty always returns to the scene of the crime. It's only a matter of time when the bastard's either caught, or surrenders himself. Either way, his conscience couldn't possibly let him live it down, if he has one. I pray that he gets what's comin to him. nod

I'm not wishing anything on him, but perhaps the same thing could happen to him. Someone should beat the crap outta him. What goes around, comes around.
They did WHAT??!.... disbelief

I just talked to my grandmother and she told me that she cussed him out at the end of the phone call. Go grandma! lol

I asked her if she called the police and she said she did not but she called my uncle Ronny (Lisa's dad) and he said if the guy called back not to tip him off to the investigation that the police are conducting. It makes me feel better to know my uncle is involved and working with them to catch this asshole.

Thank you everyone who has loved me through this. This is one of the most painful experiences of my life and I'm glad I don't have to go through it alone. Thank you. pray

Does your grandmother have an answering machine?

Perhaps this isn't legal to do, but if would call her again and she had an answering machine hooked up to her phone she could record his call, and that would be some bit of proof of what he's saying/doing?

Again, I hope very much for you and your family that this guy is brought to justice and pays for what he did.
