it snowed in minneapolis overnight, and now this morning there's blowing snow! i woke up this morning and looked out one of my apartment windows...i couldn't see anything, because of the snow plastered on the windows. i looked out my bathroom window...the skyline looked as if it had disappeared, the wind was blowing so hard!

i e-mailed in (my phone's off) to work and told my boss that i wouldn't be able to make it in today because of the weather. hopefully this stupid storm won't be going on all day because i need to go grocery shopping anyway. any of you other mpls kitties staying home today?

and i'm one of the morons who drove to work anyway, thought about taking the bus in but decided not to. besides, all the way to work i kept seeing city buses sliding sideways, getting stuck in intersections.... the buses aren't making it today.

how did this happen?

We went out last nite to the Belle and Sebastian show at the Orpheum. After the opening act we went out to smoke and it was CRAZY snowing. Then it stopped. When we cabbed home from the bar, it was all still rain and NO snow on the ground.

We sat up drinking and watching Under The Cherry Moon () and the next thing I knew, SNOW EVERYWHERE.

Seriously, on our first floor, you can't see out ANY windows as they are all covered with snow/ice.

I'm SO glad I have today off

There's A LOT of snow out there.

A few friends of mine had trees come down/split over night cos it's soooo heavy. Our big pine trees in the front appear okay, although the branches our hanging SUPER low.

I don't know how much snow we officially got, but it' super windy and drifting. I just stepped out side to take some pics and in the really drift spots, the snow went almost to my knee

Shoveling this is NOT going to be fun.

I stayed home too.

And there I was over the weekend all grumpy because Minneapolis was warmer than here.

if it were a couple of degrees colder where i'm at, we would've had to dig ourselves out of our homes.

it's been raining all weekend and yesterday it rain from 6pm until this morning. there was thunder and lightening, so that was cool.

less than half of us made it in to work this morning. and after all that drama getting to work, now they're letting us go at noon.

No snow here. But we're been getting alot of high winds and thunder. I live on the third floow of my building, and the winds lifted the chairs and table off my balcony. I opened the blinds and was like "wtf happened to all my stuff?" then saw it all laying in the grass, LOL.

Well I took skyway to work and only walked 3 blocks

okay, so i'm back from going over to the wedge (needed to get some food and stuff)...the snow looks beautiful, but it is just nasty outside. stomping yer way through unplowed sidewalks and snow drifts is NOT fun. not to mention that my trusty ol' pair of gripfast boots have seen better days and are now leaking through the soles--slushy & cold feets, yay!

for those of you who went in to work, hopefully you can make it home alright. rush hour's gonna be a bitch today.
