Miguel, I agree with so many things already posted. nod

I know just how hard this situation can be - when I lived with my parents, people would find out that I hadn't spoken to my father/brother for x amount of years and automatically assume that either:

(a) my parents were divorced

or (b) my father was dead.

What they couldn't understand was how we could pass each other in the hallway or on the stairs every single day but never say a word to each other. And we still don't. This was nothing to do with my sexuality but - in its' own way - it had a huge effect on things. nod It was the elephant in the corner which was never spoken about. So I identify with many of your issues.

I wasn't happy living at home but I had the best of both worlds - no bills, rent, major outgoings; what I made was mine. I didn't like living at home but doing it afforded me the opportunity to do lots of other things outside of the home. Things that I can't afford as easily now! lol When the time was right to move out, I did it. And it was the BEST thing. nod I clearly remember my first night away and I knew I'd made the right decision. So it'll all happen in time, I'm sure.

I hope you're okay and try not to let these things get you down. You just have to be strong and make the most out of your situation for the time being. And hopefully, soon, you'll have your own place to do whatever the hell you like with.

Take care. hug

Grad school is only a couple of years. It's no big deal to hang out at your folks place for a year or two till you finish up school. There's no sense in putting yourself through the stress of working full time to cover all the expenses of living on your own, while you're trying to complete your degree. It barely leaves any time to do your homework, or get enough sleep. You run the risk of getting burned out, and damaging your GPA. Bad grades stay on your transcripts forever, even if you retake the class.

What will help, start buying stuff that you'll need for when you do move out, and store it somewhere like in your parents basement. It's kinda overwhelming trying to get all that stuff at once when you do finally get your own place.
