The storm had knocked out the Douglas County tornado sirens so police took to the street Sunday afternoon with sirens blaring to warn people of another approaching storm.

I'm so glad you made it through nakkie! I was thinking of you yesterday when they were showing those storms on the news

I LOVE thunderstorms..... I have been in 3 tornados (all in Minnesota) and have been VERY close to few other's...I absolutely get a thrill from big bad storms.....

I'm glad you and the kids are ok and your house did not suffer damage. All we got yesterday was some rain and hail. It only lasted a little while though. I make jokes often about twisters not coming to the 'hood, but we get the after affects. Just glad that you all are alright.

We're under a Tornado watch and will be until 8 tonight. (Nashville, TN. ) The winds are at about 20-30 MPH right now and the humidty is over 80 percent, so we're alright.

I find severe weather very interesting so I like to watch it all unfold. (Of course I don't like it when people get hurt or when people lose their homes.) I've been in a handful of tornados that I actually remember over the years. It's scary but it's almost amazing to watch them. It's awesome - in the true definiton of the word.

Right now they are giving us the city warnings and saying that the large hail and damaging winds will be here in about an hour. The sky is getting very dark. I'm trying to decide whether or not to take my cat and leave the apartment. (3 story apartment is not the best place to be in a tornado. )

there was 6 million dollars in damage done to the Kansas University campus - school there was cancelled, which it never closes... they say it was due to falling tiles from the roof tops of the buildings that caused danger to those walking below.

now, they say that this storm, according to the article was a microburst with winds topping 100 miles an hour. though, on the news, we saw many pictures of tornadoes that people took and sent in
