I seriously doubt that even the most "friendly" docs were scripting 500 Quaaludes at a time, and there's no evidence that a prescription label was ever affixed to the bottle, so my guess is that one of two things happened:

1) Someone saved the bottle after a pharmacy had dispensed all of the tablets; or

2) It was stolen. (In that case, maybe somebody did take them all.)

In any event, it's a neat thing to have. Occasionally I see Quaalude bottles show up on eBay, but those are usually 100-count, and it's possible that those were given directly to a patient. Recently I had a prescription filled, and they just slapped a prescription label on a factory-sealed 100-count bottle. (Not 'ludes, sad to say... those were banned in 1984.)
