Can I also say that I hate this obsessive Sticky-ing of subjects?
I mean, some people wanna talk the movies, others just the dresses the ladies wore. To throw that in on one thread is kind of... well. Irritating. I think the winning statues went to alot of different movies, not making ONE movie the overall winner. What do you all make of that? Does that mean that there wasn't ONE movie that stood out or was it becuz there were too many of those. My biggest fave got hers! Go Reese! She has long been one of the people I said would surprise peeps and now she did! All my movie buddies are frowning at my "Didn't I tell you so?" Hehehe.

I understand your job, but you know what I mean too. Now you just get year-long threads I have to wade through to get to the posts I find interesting. I am all for a little less 'sticky-ing',

I like the fact that 'Crash' won, and also Clooney.....I was hoping they would. Haven't seen 'Capote' yet, but I think Seymour Hoffman is an awesome actor so that's deserved as well.....not sure about Weizs, she didn't leave much of an impression on me in that movie.....
Somehow I'm glad the Brokeback-hype didn't live up.....eventhough I haven't seen it. I heard it's a bit boring and HamsterHuey didn't want to join me on a date..... [Edited 3/6/06 2:54am]

Luv4U, can you at least copy & paste my LONG ASS post from the locked "Oscar Fashions" thread into one of these? I'm kinda bummed that I went through the trouble of gathering all those pics & I can't even repost it Also, the link you put on it takes you to yet another closed/missing thread... I'm not trying to be difficult, I just wanna talk about the dresses already... . [Edited 3/6/06 3:50am] [And there ya have it - luv4u] They're still posting new pics but here's my 2 cents so far (truly can't decide between Jennifer Lopez & Salma Hayek though!): 7 categories: The Great The Good The So-So I Dunno WTF?? The Bad The Terrible THE GREAT! SALMA: knocking out the park as usual! Fantastic color, impeccable fit, killer Hollywood hair! JENNIFER LOPEZ: great color, fucking fabulous design on the dress!!! I love it... CHARLIZE: great dress/makeup/shoes/nail polish! The hair is just so-so... TERRANCE HOWARD: his biggest mistake is wearing more than just the rose... He's normally not up my alley (that sounds nicer than it is) but he looks damn good tonight! THE GOOD: Hillary Swank: I like the construction of the dress a LOT... fabric is unforgiving (she's in great shape & still looks like she's got a pooch!), she's gotta start dressing up that dome again - color, jewelery, hair w/ effort... I like the ease of her look but I'm not wowed... & wowing ME is really the only reason for showing up, no? Uma! THIS is how you do pale but elegant - she doesn't look washed out & drab Nicole Kidman - cute... Queen Latifah - the material is so prom to me, but she looks good - great hair! Sandra Bullock: I love that her dress has pockets!! She needed more apparent makeup though, it's not bold enough. Dress is just okay... Meryl Streep: I actually hate the bottom of the dress BUT considering her age & that low cut she's working, I think she looks amazing Taraji P. Henson: Her eyes look jacked UP (the white liner, or silver, whatever it is), but I like that the detail of the collar is interesting & different... nice hair, the ring has to go though Dame Judy Dench: I know it's kinda lame but she's older so it's gonna be more like a coat - I forgive her... The shoes leave a little to be desired but she's a "dame" so I guess she can do whatever the fuck she wants THE SO-SO (not exactly terrible/bad, but not good either): Michelle Williams: Big Bird w/ lipstick man, wtf? & her posture is terrible! Ziyi Zhang: I guess she can't be amazing every time huh? I like the skirt better than the top, it's nice but nothing to look twice at... Jennifer Jason Leigh: fuck the dress, look @ that dude's feet! She's having hot sex, that's all that counts right now Jessica Alba - the frequently blurted "somebody bring this bitch a sandwich!!!" recipient... Jennifer Aniston: given her year, she should have knocked it out the park... but no... Kiera Knightly: Not crazy about the dress, the bottom bugs me... maybe the overall construction bugs me, I can't put my finger on it Her hair is awful, it's just not coming together for me - she's kind of a mess, too much of everything - color, jewels, hair hanging, smoky eyes, poofy bottom, one strap not two... TOO MUCH! Jada Pinkett Smith: Umm, did someone just call her a bitch here? She looks SO rigid in this moment! Boring dress, awful color, by the numbers from head to toe - why even get out of bed Dolly Parton, though it kinda goes w/ saying... THE "I DUNNO" CATEGORY: Amy Adams: I just don't know what to make of that dress. I literally don't get it... Reese Witherspoon: it definitely isn't good... but it's not exactly terrible... definitely boring as SHIT though Her coloring w/ that coloring is just so damn DRAB, & what's up w/ the fucking flowers all over it??? If they divorce, it'll be on the grounds of her being too fucking corny! THE "WTF??" CATEGORY: Lisa Rinna KILLER smoky eye though! This is the back of Maggie Gyllenhal's dress... Is she doughy or something? Why does it look like shit? She's super skinny (I think) so I'm not sure why this looks so bad but it just... does This is Maggie from the front... MY GOD is she in need of a bra Gary Busey: just b/c he's funny looking... but seriously, who let him in? Just b/c she's funny looking too... Just b/c she's scary looking (Joan Rivers, incase you can't still recognize her)... Just b/c he's scary looking too (John Singleton)... THE BAD: Catherine Keener: I love you... & your hot husband even more ... but this is not cool Naomi Watts: great Hollywood hair, but the dress is bad... Jennifer Garner: I know she just dropped a kid & all, but she looks like she's been dipped in milk & bath beads Felicity Huffman: love her, hate that fucking dress - those sheer side panels are just unforgiveable... Carolina Kurkova: THE TERRIBILE: They don't list her name, she's a cast member from the South African film "Tsotsi" Lauren Hutton: I dig her "fuck you, I'm fabulous" vibe but this is a bit goofy Good tan though, I need a vacation like that Paul Giamatti & wife: not as big a disaster as the last award show. He looks alright but he's GOT to get a stylist for the wife when he takes her to this kind of shit Phillip Seymour Hoffman & wife: She looks like she's wearing wrapping paper... fucking awful... And wtf are her shoes supposed to go with - his tie??? Here's a tip - when you can't find shoes that even BLEND w/ your dress, the dress might be a hideous piece of shit Helena Bonam Carter - she looks like somebody's nerdy mom helping chapperone the fucking prom - that bang is literally killing me! I mean we expect Tim Burton to look like a nightmare, he always has. Did she have to morph into one just to be w/ him though?
