Worst:

I'd have to say the W in Times Square, NYC. I couldn't stand it. It was too futuristic to be functional. I hated it. And the bed was too short. I ain't but 6 feet tall -- for that rate, it should've been a lot better than that. Goodness. I hate W hotels anyway. They feel evil, sinister.

Best:

I really enjoyed the Peachtree Hilton I stayed in last August. A business convention in Atlanta, and I'd waited forever to make reservations. For my rate, the sister behind the counter said, she was going to hook me up with a suite on the top floor. Oh, it was wonderful. Dug it. View of ATL, wonderful accoutrements. I loved it. It married style with function very well.

best hotel was more because of who i was with. it was a VERY nice place, but made even nicer by the company. mushy

worst hotel was also partly b/c of the company and the whole experience. confused the antler motel, across the street from the only bar i've ever gotten drunk at.. and it's as dinky as it sounds.

I tend to travel cheap, so it's not hard to impress me in the hotel department. lol

You'd be surprised what you can get for relatively little money. I've stayed in upscale hotels for $40-$50 per night. And I usually fly in first class, for less than $250.

Unfortunately, to get these kind of deals on a regular basis, you have to spend a lot of time learning how "the system" works, how to take advantage of it, and doing research. It's almost like a game to me, although some would probably think it seems more like an obsession. boxed Still, when you travel with Matt, you're not gonna stay at Motel 6.

Travelling with you was always a pleasure due to this obsession of yours, I must say. I learned quite a bit. worship

Best: I don't stay in hotels too often. Then again, I don't travel too often, either. But the nicest was probably any of the Embassy Suites hotels around the Twin Cities.

Worst: The Hastings Inn in Hastings, MN. If I wasn't so tired that night, I would have been too afraid to sleep for fear of a rodent invasion. confused

Yeah...the ones where you can park your car at the door to your room...and/or, the ones with the neon 'Vacancy/No Vacancy' light out front might be better left for emergency use only. nod And in that case sleep in the bath tub!

Not the worst, but, in beautiful Bali I had to walk an enchanting winding path with lots of greenery to reach my bungalo. I realize that I was the visiter, but the hopping little frogs and the little lizzards climbing on the walls really freaked me out!! I'm a city girl... rose

I know those spots...

...Like this one where the "O" is missing. I think those are rated 1/2 star. cool

That hotel in Bali sounds nice. I'm a city-boy but i'd take a chance on that one.
The frogs make it sound like the sleep-away camp I went to as a kid. wink
