When it seems that things have bottomed out What do you do?
Panic? Have a pity party for yourself? Think about when times were better? Get the hell out of Dodge? Take inventory on your life? The expression, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". What the hell does this mean? They bail on the situation or do they get going on fixing things? These are pretty personal views so I don't expect alot of replies but I just had to throw this question out there with the state of the world. :peas:

Moderator | It means when you have to face the worst possible of outcomes there are two types of people, those that fall apart and give up and those that keep on keeping on.
I'm a fighter. I fall apart when the situation is resolved. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

I'm a fighter. I fall apart when the situation is resolved. Interesting, "fall apart and give-up" Thanks for your honesty

I always assume I'm the fall apart type, I can't bear to think about what MIGHT happen, I'm too wussy, but in the past I've been a rock.

I think it comes with children. You start to FEAR. I'm sure it comes with children but it's installed by parents and enforced by the media. "Studies find that...", "Research has shown that...", "Surveys show that the majority of people..."

1. Sit and cry and wonder where I fucked up
2. Sit and cry some more 3. Run away from everything that I want, cause the fear of hurting again is something I do not want 4. Suck it up and go on with life and all the crap it throws at me.

It depends on what's going on. In general I'll write my favorite quote down on paper, on my computer, at my desk, etc. It doesn't fix anything or make anything go away. It just reminds me that, like they say, this too shall pass. The quote is:
If you're going through hell- keep going. ~ Sir Winston Churchill. "Down by the riverbank in the old bayou.. I'm digging a grave into mud just for you."

I've been through some fairly bad times and come out the other side. during these times people close have said that I seem to be so strong and get through it all, but my perception of myself is that I fall apart. it's the times of depression and self-analysis that REALLY bring me falling not something I'm proud of but honestly that's the way I am

We all have moments where we question ourselves, where we're going in life, what we've done, who we are. We all have good and bad times which cause us to reflect. Life is tough, sometimes. But it's because you've come out the other end and can stare the tough times in the face - and learn/move on from them - that you are strong. I think a lot of people are much tougher than they realise. These things are sent to test us, I think. Imagine how boring life would be if it was completely trouble-free and simple. Nice for a while, yes, but what would you gain at the end? There'd be nothing to learn, no self-development. We'd just be gliding through life in the same mental state. And it makes you enjoy the good times even more. [Edited 3/9/06 5:37am]

I'm a fighter. I fall apart when the situation is resolved. I'm the former type. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I can be extremely strong for a long time, and I just keep on fighting through it, which makes me feel better, accomplished I suppose. But there comes a point when I've just had enough, and I get the hell outta Dodge. And I'm so stubborn I wont be happy until I do!
