Is your dog allowed on your bed?

I love dogs, but have never loved the idea of having one in my bed. They shed, and they're smelly. Not only do I not want my bed to be hairy and smelly (I mean, really. . .I'm one of those people who is fussy about her thread count and washes her sheets with unusual regularity), but I worried about how future boy/girlfriends would react.

I got a dog in the fall (95lb Rottweiler, Gianni mushy ), and he was really good about staying off of my bed. Until. lol

He spends a lot of time with a friend of mine, as well as with my boyfriend, and they both, despite my requests to the contrary, had been letting him on their beds. Suckas. So, naturally, he has decided that my bed is fair game too. He was getting on it when I was gone, so my options were to confine him or give in. I decided to give in. rolleyes

I bathe him frequently, and he doesn't shed too terribly, but still. He's a dog. On my bed. While I like to cuddle with puppy, and my bed is plenty big enough for all of us, I'm still not sure I think this is a good idea. whofarted

I know lots of people let their dogs sleep with them. 'Fess up. Do you?

My little dog sleeps with me.... she's always curled up next to my chest...
She has regular baths so she doesn't stink and I wash our bed linens often..

Our bigger dog doesn't... because she can't get up on the bed.. which is a good thing... she has longer hair and would shed it everywhere..

Absolutely. There's nothing like having your dog(s) curl up next to you while you're sleeping. smile

The first night I let him on the bed, he curled up right next to me, and I draped my arm over him, so he rolls over on his back and wraps his front legs around my arm. I almost died from the cuteness. mushy

My sweetie, is allowed in the bed. But there's rules

- only on top of the comforter
- only when I say so
- only when I'm awake & no more than 30 minutes

She used to sleep in the bed with me but one night I woke up in HUGE puddle of drool. omfg

No way. I love my dog, but I ain't down with dog hair in my bed. She's also a space hog. Two people and a 25-pound beagle should fit on a queen-size bed with no problems - not the case! Too many dogs - mine included - have a tendency not to listen if you let them sleep with you regularly. She starts to expect it if you let her do it even once!

Yeah, I have always let my cats sleep on my bed, and yeah, I have come home to find hairballs on my blankets. neutral

When I had dogs they weren't allowed on any furniture (my mom's rule) but my bed, because I was the one washing my sheets and it didn't bother me. Dogs are snuggly beasts. love
