i just watched Drug Store Cowboy yesterday....I remember watching it as a kid and not really liking it...Now, I think it could well be his best film. Holds up much better then My Own Private Idaho

I always liked his movies apart from the 'Psycho'-remake, now 'Last Days' joins that movie.....

Case

"Last Days" was the most pretentious piece-of-shit I've seen in a theater since "You, Me and Everyone We Know." I liked Michael Pitt as the Kurt character--he looked just like him. And I LOVED the song he does near the end--In fact I've been looking for the MP3 of that for some time now.

But the movie is just another example of art-fag self indulgence. Van Sant is so hit-and-miss; I loved "Private Idaho," "Drugstore Cowboy," and "Good Will Hunting," but "Psycho," "Elephant" and "Gerry" were a total waste of time.
