OMG Jim Carey is hilarious! I was just watching Conan O'Brien and Jim Carey was on singing a punk rock song screaming at the top of his lungs, and screaming into the faces of people sitting in the audience! Omg this guy cracks me up!
I watched Liar Liar once and I was on the floor rolling around gasping for air it was so funny.

Yeah I know what you mean. I guess it is not so much him that is funny it's the people's reaction to him that sends me over the edge. Like the look of embarrasment, confusion, and shock that made me lose it! Yeah sometimes he tries WAY too hard.

i saw that show, i forgot what he sung, but the way he delivered it was total opposite to the way it's usually done. yeah, he was on that night.
i happened to catch a bit of Ave Ventura (part2) the other night and he made me chuckle a lot during some scenes. i know most people can't stand him, but i've found him funny since his "cherub of justice" skits. he does stretch a little to far, but at least he's trying to take it somewhere else.

I liked the part where Jim thought Conan was doing the string dance in a way that was wrong according to physics and then Conan corrected him (the string is attached to the hip and not the foot or something like that) and stood on the desk in triumph. "My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite." ~Juliet

I think he USED to be a lot funnier. Dumb and Dumber is one of my all-time favorite movies actually. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I think he is pretty funny. I saw him on the Today show before Christmas, and he was supposed to be going around outside collecting toys for Toys for Tots from the fans outside, and instead, he was pretending to be just a regular person behind the fences and when someone was coming around collecting toys, he was screaming and jumping up and down like the people do but was really overdoing it. He then fell on the ground, practically having convulsions. It was kind of funny.
Then when Katie Couric was trying to interview some other actress, Jim totally ruined her interview by walking behind them, and casually putting on chapstick, making them both laugh. He goes, "oh, I'm sorry. Am I interupting anything." It was rude to the other actress who never got her interview, but it was audacious and funny of him.

I heard he was bi-polar. I think he's even discussed in interviews that he's bi-polar or a manic depressive or something. I know he's said he periodically goes into deep, deep terrible bouts of depression. One of my relatives is bipolar. It's a difficult disease to live with, to say the least, if one doesn't receive the proper ongoing care and treatment. As for Jim Carrey, I used to avoid him, and anything he was in, like the plague. Then one night I happened to watch Dumb and Dumber just because I really, really needed some lame, no-brainer humor and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed both the movie and Jim Carrey himself. I like him now, and one of the reasons is that there's a lot more to him than only stupid, spastic humor -- The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and even The Cable Guy (which I liked, though I know most people didn't..) prove that Jim's got a wider range than only comedy, and can give very thoughtful, sensitive performances when he wants to. However I have never seen either of the Ace Ventura movies and I never will.

MOCK YEAH ING YEAH BIRD YEAH MOCK-ING-BIRD! I know every single line from that movie actually. I love when he goes out to get just "the essentials" with the last of their money and ends up buying beer, a cowboy hat, a pinwheel, porn etc. And then the old lady robs him. The Cable Guy had to grow on me, I think it took about the 3rd time (on cable, of course!) for me to forgive it Never saw Me, Myself & Irene. He's one of those people I can take or leave, it really depends on the film - if it looks good, I'll see it...

I really liked Bruce Almighty. There were a lot of jokes in there that you would only understand if you're familiar with Buffalo, NY. Many of the characters were based on real people who were on Buffalo tv stations.A lot of comedians based characters on these same Buffalo newscasters.
SCTV was based on the same people. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss
