They acted unrealistically in a movie that wants to be taken seriously as high drama. That's a problem. Were they also supposed to conveniently all cross paths at the perfect times in a giant city? Your personal bias towards it based on your past experiences has nothing to do with the actual quality of the movie. I saw Crash last night. I liked it on the strength that it kept me pinned to my seat and very effectively took me on an emotional rollercoaster. But I have to admit that I also thought it was way flawed.
It was contrived, preachy and suffered too many theatric fallacies to drive home it's point. I think it was superbly acted and directed, but the screenplay didn't at all deserve the praise... or the Oscar. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
