i used to think so too, but regular soda was getting too sweet for me and someone introduced me to diet dr. pepper, which tastes a LOT like normal...and i got hooked...and lost a LOT of weight. and so now i'm a nutrasweet junkie. i still like my sugar, but with drinks, i prefer diet sweetner primarily because it's not so sickly sweet, but also because it DOES make a difference on the ol' waistline.
