The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York has a lot of good Vermeer's, Natisse.

From my point of view, Vermeer is a MUST SEE, even before Rembrandt, as Vermeer's paintings are so much rarer and the chance to go and see them should not be passed.

In the Met they have five amazing Vermeers.

Go check them out at http://essentialvermeer.20m.com

If you like art, definitely go to the Guggenheim, MoMA or the Met(ropolitan Museum of Art). MoMA is free on Fridays after 6pm. Also, lots of people don't talk about the Brooklyn Museum of Art, but they feature a lot of great works in there. The Basquiat exhibition was last year, and they always have something outstanding.

Catch the Broadway show Avenue Q! Really, really funny!

If you like to shop, go to the SoHo area (Prince St. subway stop), Bloomingdales (59th & Lex), Barneys New York (Madison & 61).

Definitely see Central Park if you get a chance.

Lots of great places to eat: Go to http://www.menupages.com and search around, lots of restaurant-saavy NYers critique their faves and dish dirt about the dingy ones.

Go to this piano bar on 46th Street called Don't Tell Mama. GREAT Cabaret shows. I totally miss this about New York.
