But to honestly answer this thread, of course, yeah...there are things I have done that I regret or more often things that have happened.

And sure I learn from them but I still wish they were undone.

I've always known that every choice I make in life will effect me for the rest of my life. Knowing this since youth, I always though out well the choices I was to make knowing they would be with me my whole life. I thread very lightly on the eggshells of choices. This saves me from big regrets or regrets, however it also creates several nonexistant regrets that are not even worth mentioning.

I regret being insecure when I was younger and trying to hide from the world instead of doing the things young people do.

Every time I come close to regretting stuff, I try to remember what the Bible says (Romans 8:28): "All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."

If it weren't for that verse, I'd drown in regret over a good deal that's gone down in my life.

I was just talking about this recently.

I regret being as well-behaved as I was when I was a kid and a teenager.

I should have gotten into more trouble, been more rebellious, done more stupid things.

I regret being such a goody-goody. I hope I've made up for it in my adult life. nod

You know, I've made my share of bad choices in my life. But there are few things I actually REGRET.

Back when I just graduated from high school, for example, I had a full ride scholarship due to academics to a private college in Mpls. I was in an honors program, the classes and people were amazing. But, after 1 term, I decided to drop out and just be a full time raver. Buh Bye scholarship. This is the school I eventually returned to and graduated from a few years ago, with a near 40k debt. But, weirdly, I don't regret it. I needed to make those bad choices and experience what I did, it was all part of the journey. That holds true for me with most of the big things in my life.

Most of my 'regrets' lie in my poor behavior with boys when I was a raver. I was a total shit and got off on it. All I can figure it that I was such a "geek" in school and then when I became a raver I was SO COOL rolleyes I think it was my drug induced way of getting even for the torture of my early years.

One other regret is musical. When I turned 21 it took me a while to figure out how to drink responsibly at shows. Due to that I attended but don't remember a handful of amazing shows (Bjork at First Ave, Beck at First Ave, PJ Harvey live in a field, etc)

but, what can you do?

Not really.

There are plenty of things I could've done differently and - with hindsight - maybe I would. But that was then and this is now. That was who I was then - and how I reacted to those situations then - and this is who I am now. And I'll probably be saying the same thing in ten years' time about the things I'm doing now. shrug You just have to live and learn.

So even though I can look back and have plenty of doh! moments, I have no regrets. I dealt with each situation as best I could.

Same here. It's weird though, because back then I never really felt like being reckless and stupid so I sometimes wonder why I feel like I should have gotten something out of my system that was never really there in the first place. Even today I feel similarly; in a way I want to go crazy but as soon as the opportunity arises I choose not to, and not because I'm afraid what others might think or anything like that but rather just because it would feel artificial. I guess I might subconsciously be letting society define what type of craziness I should be after even though it would have been better to let my very own brand of craziness be the outlet for these urges. Boozing up and puking in the bushes is not for everyone. I just need to reach a point where I fully realize that, I think. hmmm
