My house actually did burn down two months ago and let me just say... this is a really stupid question.
My life - and that of my family - was in danger. I only thought of getting out, and asked God to please spare us our lives. I seriously cared not about any material possession. Let's just hope that you never ever really have to deal with this situation. | |

I've been in a similar situation. A tornado struck my apartment complex, a few years ago. By the time I realized what I was hearing (it was my first twister experience), I grabbed my puppy and rushed to the safety of the bathtub. By then, it was over. So much devastation in such a short time. I think most people make the right decisions during crises. | |

fire is one of my biggest fears, i cant imagine fires spread so fast... every little minute counts. even tho it'll likely never happen to us again, in our rebuilt house we're putting all kinds of precautions... rope ladders by windows and the like... just so that we can sleep at night.  | |
