I'm in school right now...where I am supposed to be getting prepared for college but instead I'm on the internet chatting with a bunch of people I've never met before and I'm willing to bet that at least one of you is addicted to porn....with that said, I need help. I'm trying to decide what way to go with my life. I always knew I wanted to go to college but right now i'm not sure...I hate school so much and I think I starting to sabotage my chances to get any academic scholarships...I don't know what I want to do with my life...I'm sure there has to be somebody on here that can give me some goood advice...I need help

Stay in school....

you could take a year off and travel a bit,
or take some classes in things that really interest you,
find out what really interests you.

i went to university at 18 and studied business management and hated it.
When i finished university I found I really liked performing and theatre so I did a performing arts diploma at 23. I wish i could have studied that at uni instead of business.

You know, if you can I think the best way is to travel. See new places, meet new people and maybe get some connenctions and if you don't get to meet a lot of interesting people then at least you've seen some. Or try speaking with people at your school, have your eyes open and don't stress out!! You don't have to get your dream job at once, you can always change your mind! I know it doesn't sound like much help but I think it'll all work out. That's all I can say for now, being in almost the same situation;-)

my advice is actually if you hate college so much take a break and get a full time job in cube city.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to get into a field that you love.
That is the only way you will be able to get over any bumps that will come your way.

All fields, all jobs contain some bullshit of some sort. The people who are least affected by this B.S. & therefor are more effective & creative at their jobs are those whose love what they do.
Don't stay in a field that like. Choose a field that you love. It's incredibly difficult to compete against those who do.

Wait. theres no point wasting time and money going to college if you dont know what you want to do, or if youre doing something you dont really want to do, because you wont use it in your career,a nd youll end up going back to college anyway. It might make your parents feel all safe if you go to college now but really, 17 year olds (or whatever) dont know what they want to do yet! Its your life, decide on your own time.

I left school, went to work in a virgin megastore for 2 years, decided i wanted to do something that i had thought i might end up doing years before and went to uni. im still there, and now that I had the chance to decide for myself that I was ready, im looking forward to my career.

Go to college, definetely. Don't declare a major or anything right away if you have no clue what your interests are, just take general education classes and see what appeals to you.
