I don't think so. This one was actual footage of his crazy ass talking and touching the Grizzlies.

He was on David Letterman and was told that he was going to be eaten...

He replied but I love the Grizzlies...I'm one with them, huh?

What's up with that? eek

Funny, as I was walking out of the theatre after having seen Grizzly Man I heard some people expressing views similar to yours and I thought to myself "wow, they are really retarded". shrug

Now why would you say that?

Do you think he was sane?

I mean what was his purpose?

Did ya not think that one of those grizzlies would say....

"Okay...my stomach is grumbling...oh boy looks yummy."

Would you do it?

Actually, I think he set this up to end this way.

Anybody in their right mind would know that sooner or later the Grizzlies would attack.

He kept saying that he smelled death. He felt death..

Maybe he'll bust an Andy Kaufmann and jump out a Kodiak's ass in 7 years and say "Ta-daaaaa!"

Yes. A sane and extremely passionate human being who put his life on the line to follow his dreams. He's quite a character of course, but definitely not crazy or retarded.

I mean what was his purpose?

He said it multiple times; to protect the bears. I'm sure he also wanted to get close to them and understand them.

Did ya not think that one of those grizzlies would say....

"Okay...my stomach is grumbling...oh boy looks yummy."

Yes, and so did he. He said at least five times that his life was at risk but that he was prepared to do what he did anyway.

Would you do it?

I don't feel as passionately about bears as he did, so no. But if there was something else I felt equally passionately about then sure, I'd put my life on the line.

You'll love it! It's an emotionally gripping portrayal and quite possibly the best documentary I've ever seen. It has so incredibly many layers...just to observe how completely understanding and at the same time completely alienated Herzog is by Treadwell is reason enough to watch it. And that's just one aspect.

He didn't strike me as having the same scientific detatchment Jane Goodall had from the apes she studied. That could've been a big part of his problem. He's not a bear. Bears know he's not a bear. For some reason, it's like he lost sight of that fact. He just got way too comfortable.

I heard his remains got cited for feeding the bears.

There wasn't anything amazing about this documentary.

Tim appeared to me to be bipolar...almost retarded.

I mean...anyone who would stand close to a 12-15 foot wild bear is stupid.

Individuals who are bipolar and manic depressive feel as though they can conquer the world.

This guy appeared to be very dumb.

There was nothing stunning about this work.

No, they do not. There is no video of that. He had his camera on at the time, but the lens cap was on. There is only audio, but it was not played during the film. Grizzly Man was one of last year's best films, and it's a shame that the Academy did not make it eligible for the documentary category. It's much better than any of the nominees.

Bi Polar is a mental illness. Developmentally CHALLENGED is not.

"retarded" is a lame ass word that only shows the ignorance of the person using it.

ooopps... neutral

Sure, it does. Sure it does.

Just like nonjudgemental freaks who attend church and try to make up their own beliefs so they can chat anytime they want to.

It's alright.

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. Blah...blah...blah.

Do we have a congregation that'll listen to the word? Sure...just don't use the word retarded sayth the "Lord!"

The man was stupid! Did you watch the film, huh? eek
