I'm in a relationship with a gap almost that big. I'm 26 and he's 41. It works out fine between us, and he gets to tell his friends that he's dating this 26yo vixen, so that's cool. But there's a huge fucking difference between an 18yo and a 26yo. It's not the sex part that I'd worry about. It's the "ongoing relationship" part. Too tricky to navigate with a teenager.

well when I was 18-19, I had a relationship with a guy 22 years my senior.. It wasnt a healthy relationship, maybe cos he was a bit warped

But 18 year olds ARE classed as adults, some are more mature than others, so I wont exactly knock it.

For me, dating an 18 year old guy? Hmm.. well prolly not.. hell yeah for the fun factor, if I knew he was into me and was more mature etc etc, but not long term,. I am not looking for that in a relationship..

People place too much emphasis on age - people don't magically acquire new attributes that make them more or less able to handle new situations the day they turn 18. Every person is different, every relationship is different, and should be considered in it's own context, not on the basis of the age of the people involved.

That being said, I'd be so surprised if someone that much younger then me gave me the time of day that I'd likely be quickly intrigued to see what came of it...
