I do not recommend Melatonin. I have had A LOT of issues with sleep--so much so that I went to a neurologist and had an overnight sleep study done. She had me take melatonin and it made me feel like I was a zombie. I guess if you want to get knocked out it might be okay, but I didn't like it. Now I take Ambien sometimes, but mostly I've just accepted the fact that my sleep schedule will always be fucked up... sigh Most nights I don't fall asleep until 2 or 3am, which really messes up my supposed-to-be-at-work-by-9am work schedule. Luckily, I don't get in trouble for being late.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

For a very long time, because of the depression, I've had extreme sleeping problems. I can get so many sleeping drugs but they don't work for me, I keep waking up every hour to every other hour the whole night through... what can sometimes help me at least sleep good for the time I manage, is

- Make sure the bedroom is nice and dark. Try those eye covering thingies if you can't have blinds shut really tight, that can work wonders if you have a headache while trying to sleep too.

- Open a window in the bedroom, the cool air works wonders for me. Just make sure you have a nice warm comforter since it's in the middle of the winter now.

I feel your pain Emm, if I could choose one part of my situation to go away it would definitely be my sleeping probs. hug I hope things get better for you soon. flower

With that being said....
I really don't like to sleep anyway. I either can't or end up having these WILD assed nightmares/dreams. The other night I dreamt that I was chasing this white dog all around my apartment, then I finally got it out the back door, then I yelled out "IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE IN MY APARTMENT!?!" and 2 middle aged(hot)spanish men came out my closet with nothing but white towels on and holding blue and red glow in the dark necklaces like you get at Hershey Park. It's shit like that that makes me want to stay awake. I'm on my way to bed now. I've been un 36 hours. But I'm gonna start a little thread first. Something to tie ya'll over until 2morrow when i'm back on here causing trouble like I always do. see now i'm just rambling.

lol I'm sorry for laughing but it WAS funny redface

My nightmares are very straight forward but it's still not fun waking up in the middle of the night kicking the wall, having dreamt that I kicked my mother in the head. sigh neutral

when i had trouble sleeping I started to read in my bed.
It doesnt really helps but it makes insomnia less boring.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Yes, preferably on your buckwheat eye pillow.

What's coolest if you can have a pillow stuffed w/ actual dried lavendar heads (not stalks).

That sounds more natural & simple, but I wonder if the lavender is heavy enough. The slight pressure on the eyes is a key to the eye pillow's effect of relaxing the eyes.

I think I have buckwheat that was treated with lavender oil. My girlfriend's has other essential oils as well.

But maybe mine is just lavender heads after all, I'm not sure.

You need not actually lay your head on it... after all, would take a whole lot of lavendar heads to stuff a whole bit pillow, wouldn't it? A small "roll" type pillow, somewhere next to your head so that you can breathe the scent all night, is good enough. Until the fire, I had the same one for about 6 years and it hadn't lost its scent. I suppose that once it does, you could always regenerate it with a bit of essential oil.

Jasmine essential oil is good for sleep too. It's really expensive, though.
