portland, oregon people - i love your city!!!! i've been on a visit for the last few days - love it! have family there, just popped in for a visit. powell's bookstore, the whole town is amazing and funky
however, do you KNOW how funny it is for someone from minneapolis to see the headline news engenderee by your 'bone-chilling' cold wave of (gasp) 30 degrees fahrenheit?

http://www.oregon.com/att...allery.cfm it was actually deeply funny watching the hullabaloo made over this 'arctic blast'. i kid you not, the evening news was devoted to the 'crushing cold' i mean seriuosly! if the temperature gets UP to 39 degrees in february, we're out tanning and debating the best time to plant our gardens

i've been wanting to check this place out. it constantly makes the list as one of the best american cities to live in. i also hear that they have some type of bike share thing going on out there, sounds pretty cool.

i'm seriously thinking about moving there. they have buses, light rail transit, historical old buildings (of the type minneapolis bulldozed years ago), it's a socially progressive atmosphere, it's an hour from the pacific coast and an hour from the desert (best of all worlds) and it's just plain nifty in many respects
