I would stay away from milk as much as possible if i were you. A lot of times they use left over milk and used milk when they are putting it in the cartons. I have a friend who worked where they did it. He does not drink milk anymore.

Ex-Moderator | In general, I actually like the UK's labeling, though. Very handy for vegetarians that stuff is spelled out in bold letters like that. Instead of scrutinizing the tiny printed ingredient list to catch an animal product. |

It seems like since food allergies have become much more serious, these labels have become more popular. i've got a jar of organic honey peanut butter (well, the name on the label sez "honey peanut spread", but it's basically peanut butter no matter whatcha call it ) that's got a bit of a warning similar to that on it: made in a plant that processes soy, sesame, and other tree nuts.
i think that the fact that the label has the word "peanut" in big-assed capital letters would suffice.

Unless of course it doesn't contain milk....in which case it would be called... "I Don't Beleive it's Not Milk".....

my folks always did that--they'd buy two gallon jugs of milk. one got put in the fridge as always, and the 2nd jug got put in the freezer in order to stay fresh. i used to hate that, because there'd be little ice shards in the milk when they'd pour me a glass to go along with my dinner. i hated drinking milk in the first place, so the half-thawed milk made me hate it that much more.

my mother would freeze milk in case we were unable to get to the grocery store in the winter
perhaps it had been frozen too long or just took on other flavors but it never tasted right after it thawed

Being a parent with a child that has a severe allergy to some nuts I'm happy if they are over zealous about allergy warnings. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

In the article the guy was saying that this kind of labeling, i.e bottles of milk containing milk, undermines the seriousness of food allergies, i.e that they're making a mockery of it.
