They say lonliness is the worst form of torture?

Whats your opinion, and what would be your worst form of torture?

I like being alone at least some of the time. For me its a necessity. As for lonliness, while it can be torture, it's something you can generally get over.

Torture for me would be going deaf. Watching people enjoy music that I can't.
Or spiders and creepy crawly bugs everywhere that I can't get away from.

Thats the kind of information you just cant give out to people!

sometimes i feel like the company of people can be lots worse than lonliness.

I think I'd rather be lonely than be beaten with a cane or shocked. So I'm not sure if I agree it is the worst torture. Just my two cents.....

I've actually taken some training to deal with certain situations such as torture and the worse by far was pain inflicted to another in your name. The being in a box a size too small with rocks wasn't fun either.

Listening to some one who's stupid and doesn't realize they are proving they're stupid.

Baloney. Compared to beheadings, rapings etc just because you are protesting an administration, treated like a dog and maybe death by public beheading because you are gay, being lonely is not the worst thing that can happen.


But

on the other hand being alone for long periods of time can I feel alter our mental state, especially as kids.

Torture for me would be to not be able to attend to my own crying newborn baby. Say I was tied up or something and the baby was nearby, distraught, and wanted to be picked up and nobody else was there and singing doesn't work. Babies need human contact, and it would break my heart if I could not.
