Heiress said: As many of you know, my house burnt down in December... Just last week, the demolition work began. Two days ago, between the floorboards, the men found the remains of my beloved cat, Kochka. I cried and cried yesterday... it's hard to talk to others about... people tend to say, "well, at least you and your child got out alive..." Kochka was a bit like my child - she was with me for years before my daughter was born... She was, to me, not a posession, but a living soul. My poor, poor baby. I hope she didn't suffer too much. By the time I heard about her, the demolition men had already disposed of her... so I didn't even get to say goodbye. Maybe it's better that way... I can remember when she was young and beautiful. Goodbye, Kochka... Rest in peace, my beauty. I'll post a picture of her, if and when I find one. This is very sad. I feel your pain and I hope your cat didn't suffer too much. I had a cat for 18 years and when I had to put him down due to his failing health, it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Hang in there. I hope things get better for you.

was just thinking, it has to be a lot harder to make that decision to put one down, then to have him or her taken from you by force... to all of you who've dealt w/ that circumstance.

I'm sorry Heiress It's awful to lose pets in tragic ways. My most beloved cat disappeared one night. I believe she was eaten by coyotes. One day she was with me, the next she was gone. Your cat was beautiful and I know how hard it is not to even get to say goodbye You'll have another lovely cat someday soon 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

My daughters and I love my cat so much...I joke that he's the only man in my life. If something like this happened to him we would be deeply saddened. Love to you and to the little soul on her way. The Normal Whores Club

Koch and Noodle (who seems to have wandered off) were my daughter E's best friends and constant companions... I've tried to be open with her about what happened, without being too oppressive... Life has been tough for my little one these days. A few weeks ago she lost another good friend of hers in death... a 14-year-old boy who was confined to a wheelchair. Tough month, this one! I guess things have to start getting on the up & up sooner or later...

sorry to hear about your loss.
I lost my cat Peach, in a road kill, the driver came round nocking on all the local doors, (I was at work at the time) with tears in his eyes. I will always miss peach, I was her human. When I finished work she would be in the front garden waiting to tell me off for leaving her for the whole day and when would dinner be ready, sleeping on my shoulders, curling up on the bed keeping my feet warm in the winter. I believe that she will be waiting for me when i go. but more recently my dog had to go to the vets to have a heria op, turned out to be a lot worse, his bladder had moved in the heria as well. the total cost was £540. thats all my savings gone now. to me its money well worth spent knowing that the little guy is ok now. I would spend that amount again if I had to. hes a westie, I'll post a photo of him later [Edited 2/18/06 4:38am]
