Do You Subscribe To Any Podcasts? I have iTunes on my PC but I don't tend to use it if I don't have to. Most podcasts have a homepage anyway, where you can just right-click and save the latest show.
I've become obsessed with a few shows and generally listen to them whilst doing the housework in an evening and then slipping the earphones on again in bed, before I sleep. Here's the top four podcasts I listen to... 01. Lucky Bitch Radio with Wanda Wisdom. http://www.luckybitchradio.com/ Bizarrely, I found out a week ago that Carrie knows Wanda Wisdom! It's my favourite show. She may ramble on about herself at times but you really feel like she's talking directly to you. Even the shows where she talks about nothing are more involving than some others. I also like when Puffy Blubbercunt makes guest-appearances. Puffy is like the anti-Wanda and they make a good mix. 02. Feast Of Fools. http://www.feastoffools.net A little brash at times and can be a bit repetitive. However, it's worth checking out because they always have the best guests on - even if their intervewing technique is inane. Miss Ronnie and her frying pan is a riot too. If you just had to listen to Fausto and Marc chat without guests, it would be very, very boring. 03. Madge Weinstein's Yeast Radio. http://yeastradio.podshow.com/ Sometimes completely surreal and incomprehensible but at other times incredibly thought-provoking. I find it more "funny peculiar" than "funny ha, ha". Although this isn't always easy-listening, I appreciate the honesty of the show. It's been a bit hard to listen to recently as many of the shows have been meditations on death and loss. 04. Eat This Hot Show. http://www.eatthishotshow.com/ Updated sporadically, it features Wanda Wisdom, Madge Weinstein and Ragan Fox. I don't like Ragan Fox's own show at all, but he's listenable when they're all together. They seem to have some feud with the Feast Of Fools crew but I haven't really researched the reasons why.

All the podcasts I subscribe to are just camp nonsense. I don't think I'd be able to sleep if I listened to the news before I slept.

You know, I'm not happy with Wanda. I emailed him to have lunch with me a week and a half ago and he hasn't responded. I still think it's crazy you listen to her podcast all the time. She's hilarious! |

All the podcasts I subscribe to are just camp nonsense. I don't think I'd be able to sleep if I listened to the news before I slept. its only because i'm required to read the newyork times daily for a class and i'm too lazy and too cheap to stop and pick up a times

Yeah, they're all free. Does it have to be content from the New York Times specifically?

Surely there must be others at the Org whom indulge? I find Wanda fascinating.

Yeah, they're all free. Does it have to be content from the New York Times specifically? no so long as its credible news. we have to be up to date on international/national events dealing with government/politics

ABC News have something called The Daily Shuffle which would keep you up to speed but doesn't seem in depth: http://abcnews.go.com/Tec...odcasting/ There's also podcasts on there from local N.Y. ABC affiliates. I thought the BBC may have had something a bit more global, but a lot of their news podcasts are too Anglo-centric. There is an independent World-News Podcast called Democracy Now but it seems like it may have a liberal-skew: http://www.democracynow.org/index.pl I mean, I'm a robotic liberal, so I'd probably like this, but it may not be completely impartial.
