St.Valentine Day (for the most part) is pagan. Venus? Cupid? No thanks. 
And BTW, I'm very anti-traditional. And it really bothers me that some people are so uneducated about the history behind this holiday. But that's another story.....  | |

i used to try and celebrate valentine's day as a single person but that just didn;t make any sense to me. So this year I just treated it like any other day only i treated myself a little bit better. No exercise, no diet, and no strenuous studying. it actually turned out to be a pretty good day. | |

Today was one of the better V day's I've had as a single girl...I really didn't even notice it was VD until after work. Then I laughed to myself on my walk home whenever I saw guys carrying those generic bouquets you can buy at every corner deli in NYC--thinking, "c'mon dude, it's 7 o'clock on Valentine's--couldn't you have a little bit more forethought?"
I didn't go out for dinner (even though my friend called--I didn't get the message until it was too late) which is fine, cause all the restaurants would be full of lovey dovey couples. 
One of our interns renamed Valentines Day as Single's Awareness Day...it's funny 'cause it's true.  The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. Whenever I'm single on Valentine's Day (Which, now that I think of it, has been every Valentine's Day since I shot out of a vagina), I just treat it as if I were any other day and it has always worked out fine.
Last year I worked at a flower shop on Valentine's Day so it was kind of hard to ignore, but even then it didn't really bother me. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

I turned her down and went out trolling instead. Since then she has barely said two words to me. Going in for my hot chocolate used to be a nice experience. Now when i go in and she's there it's colder in there than it is outside. I get the feeling she told the other two girls in there as well. I can't say that for sure but i get that feeling.
