Fried Cheesecake....try some.

I went to that Japanese restaurant again.....only I wanted to try a different dessrt, so I chose the cheesecake. Like cheesecake isn't fattening enough as it is lol I found out that some state fairs actually sell this as well.....so it's not as unusual as I thought. The fairs that sell it are the same fairs that sell foods like fried ice cream (I kid you not), fried Oreos, fried Snickers, fried Twinkies (which are delicious,btw.smile).....they fry anything at State fairs.

It's soft cheesecake encased like a burrito in phyllo dough.....fried.....then sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. I have yet to try the fried snickers at the fair, but those Twinkies are good. I'm gonna try it the next time I go. I would've tried it the last time I was there, but I can only take so many fried things at once lol

Yes because cheesecake just doesn't have enough calories. lol It makes sense that one piece of cake should equal your entire caloric intake for a day.

ANyway I tried the fried candybars at our State Fair and didn't think they were very good at all. Basically it just tasted like sweet bread on top of my snickers which then proceeded to melt all over me.

well, if you consider the crust and toppings for a regular piece of cheesecake....calorie wise it's probably not too much higher than a regular slice.

drool I love cheesecake.

We have a Jewish bakery in the centre of this city. Next to the horrifying things my ancestors went through during WWII, they're very famous for the best cheese-cake ever, in my book ! drool

I've been thinking about making a simple cheese-cake myself, but I've never done this before. Anyone?

(right, I can google it, but this is more fun)

yeah, there are so many recipes out there to try.....but I think you gotta have the magic touch when it comes to cheesecakes. tease My aunt, I swear she makes the best cheesecake everytime. No one else in the family, regardless how hard they try to follow her recipe can ever make one like hers. It's been a while since I've tried to make a cheesecake, but everytime I tried it never turned out the way I wanted it to. Good luck with yours though smile

I make a cheesecake at least once a month. Its my roomates favorite dessert. Last week I made an amaretto one and it was drooling I have a friend who makes the best white chocolate raspberry one too. Making cheesecake is super easy...its waiting for it to chill and set that takes long and makes you anticipate it...but well worth it in the end.
